Do you have a passion for defending human rights? Do you want to break down the barriers that migrants face in Scotland? Do you strive to campaign for a more fair and just society in Scotland? Do you have lived experience of migration that you believe can help achieve these goals?
We are excited to announce that our group is now recruiting more members!
JustCitizens is a migrant led group that seeks to tackle barriers that migrants face in Scotland. We focus on devolved areas that can improve the lives of thousands of migrants who have made Scotland their home. The past year we have focused heavily on access to education for migrants with our successful #OurGradesNotVisas campaign, and access to healthcare with the production of our Access to Healthcare Toolkit for New Scots. This year we hope to focus on building sanctuary communities for migrants, along with looking at access to housing for migrant communities in Scotland. We work with professionals from JustRight Scotland, along with community and lived experience groups across Scotland. Our panel is diverse and we represent a range of different professional backgrounds in our work. We believe in social justice, and are committed to being an inclusive group.
Along with opportunities to build a better future in Scotland, JustCitizens provides professional and personal development opportunities, trainings, and support for all members of our group. We are also able to provide translation and interpreting support for potential members who do not speak English. We also do our best to make our work as accessible as possible for all our members.
